Do the self-employed suffer lower heart attack rates?

This important question would be easily answered with the proper understanding of the benefits that would be associated with self-employment opportunities in businesses, as well as the factors that heavily contribute to heart attacks. It doesn’t take an expert to appreciate the fact that the nature of self-employment and second business opportunities give individuals their much needed peace of mind. Such ventures where individuals are saved the hassles of meeting tight work schedules under strenuous conditions come with a lot of health benefits. It would therefore easily go without saying that those who have chosen to go the self-employed way are less likely to suffer heart attacks.

Stress and many psychological factors related to people’s lifestyles have immensely contributed to poor health related to heart disorders. Research has shown that the kind of work that people engage them in affects their mental wellbeing. Self-employed people enjoy a lot of freedom when carrying out their businesses. They can easily make or even alter decisions that determine their working style. They are their own bosses and nobody comes to push them around. They basically operate under their free will and will even sometimes give themselves generous breaks from their work whenever they feel tired or lose concentration. Stress will not easily set in with all this freedom and such individuals will rip a lot of health benefits including reduced chances of heart attacks.

Emotional satisfaction and work security greatly contributes to a healthier heart. The feeling that one owns their work makes them appreciate whatever they manage to make at the end of the day. They are able to understand any prevailing circumstances and can accept either positive or negative results. It would be very hard for employees to understand when their salaries have to be delayed or not paid even when there are obvious challenges facing their employers. They would be very much disturbed emotionally knowing they have already given their input and no returns come by. However, the self-employed individuals appreciate the fact that their businesses will have both highs and lows and in any case it stimulates their desire to stay in control and determine their destiny. For the employees there is no sense of security at all as their jobs can just be terminated at the will of their employers. They live with the constant fear they might lose what they have and that it’s their employer they depend on to continue earning. This makes them feel more vulnerable and less in control of their destiny, which in turn translates to poor health status and probably higher chances of heart attacks.

It is also worth noting that self-employment gives one the opportunity to exploit their full potential with all the value benefits coming to them. This is not the case when one is employed and has to work for another person who is more likely to use an employee as an asset to make money. Many people even consider being employed as just a starting point in life when no other options appear to be available. The self-employed will therefore have better prospects as far as money making is concerned. Earning financial freedom allows one to acquire much of what they desire in their lives. With better incomes, people can buy good homes for their families which bring the satisfaction of achieving in life. This ultimately leads to less stress and a better health for the heart.
